Shopping for college can be stressful if you do not know what to pick. College is a place where you need clothes and shoes that are not only comfortable but also cheap for your wallet. The budget being limited, you need to choose something that serves for pairing a lot of outfits. Investing in the wrong items will not only waste your money but also end up cluttering your closet. Each morning you’ll wake up to the “I have nothing to wear” mood. We have compiled a list of things that will help you a little through this time.
Basic Tees – For any outfit to come together, you need your basics right. A black, white and grey tees are a must for your closet. Also, invest in good quality clothing that will last you for quite sometime. Buying cheaper alternatives will save you a few bucks initially but you’ll have to repurchase them in every 2 months. The basic tees serve as the base for any outfit that you have in mind. From jacket to scarves, you can pair almost anything with them.
Comfortable Pants or Jeans – This is one time in your life when you need to be prepared almost always. No comfortable bottoms indicate a failed outfit. Invest your money in some quality jeans, leggings or jeggings. You’ll need to wear them everyday and thus, make sure that they fit you well. Again, just like your tees, have the basic denims for everyday purpose.
Shoes – There are five basic shoes that every girl needs to own. A pair of good old sneakers, a pair of sandals, boots, a dressy black heel and a wedge. You cannot go wrong if you own these items. Save the heels for the fancy occasions like parties or presentations. Comfortable and wearable shoes are an absolute must if you are going to college. Running around campus can be one hell of a task if you get shoe bites and rashes.
Accessories – Accessorizing is the best way to up your game instantly. The best way to look much more put together is by adding accessories of your choice. They can range from rings, pendants, earrings or even necklaces. Choose gold or silver as per your skin undertones and look classy everyday.
Blazer and Formals – In university or college, there are a lot of paper presentations or formal events that you are made to attend. Blazers are an essential for this purpose. They make you look smart and so much more toned. There is very little that can go wrong with this one. Grey or black, choose whatever satisfies your tastes. You can spend some money on these items as you will be needing them for multiple times during college days.
Makeup – Makeup is an absolutely relative issue. It depends on person to person. If you are the everyday make up kind, make sure to have the essentials like foundation and concealer or even bronzers. Of you are one of the many lazy and laid back ones, you need to have 3 things. Own a concealer, a kohl pencil and a lip color of your choice. These three things brighten any outfit and make you look alive. I cannot stress the importance of sunscreens enough. Always remember to wear sunscreen even if the sun is not out. You need to wear sunscreen daily. No excuses at all!
Lip Balm – Having moisturized and soft lips are a must. You definitely do not want to look pale and dry all day. You can opt for a tinted lip balm too. That way your lipstick needs get reduced and you have to spend lesser money.
