Queensland is a popular choice to work amongst skilled migrants owing to high standard of living, good working conditions, comparable wages and entitlements including public holidays and leave. Migrating to Queensland has become even more lucrative with the new Skilled Occupation List and Business and Investment criteria in effect from July 25th.
The list is applicable for those who are not currently working in their nominated occupation in Queensland. Applicants looking to gain work from this occupation list must meet the DIBP requirements and must meet a minimum of two years’ work experience post qualification in the nominated occupation, or have an offer of employment for 12 months in regional Queensland in the nominated or a closely related occupation. These conditions are subject to the kind of visa you have- Subclass 190 or Subclass 489. While nominations for skilled workers and Alumni of Queensland higher education institutions under Subclass 190 visa category, nominations for skilled workers currently working in Queensland or outside of Queensland for this Subclass 489.
